Screening, such as BP, smoking, diet and weight have all been programs. Physical activity programs are now popular. Early programs not evidence based. Not many had maintenance components, despite perfect setting for this. Just short, broad programs. Didn't cost much, but didn't do much. Designs not strong, measurement not strong, no comparison sites, etc. With more external funding and good research, we now have more evidence based programs. Very few cost effectiveness studies, and little training for managers. Most effective programs for the money.. Target high risk strategy for high risk group. Screening can help maximize benefits. Stronger designs, research on recruitment and retention for these programs. Essential for more cost-effectiveness studies. Most research has been done with 400 to 2000 employees. But most of work force works for small companies. If 500 employees or more, company needs occupational nurse. Small companies don't provide health benefits. Have to think of creative ways to reach these employees. More and more people are working from home.
