Course Description

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES. Participants, upon completion of this course, should be able to:
    • Follow national guidelines for clinician patient intervention, called "The 5-A Model": Ask, Advise, Assess, Assist, and Arrange. This simply algorithm provides structure to a clinically effective intervention.
    • Use evidence-based tools to identify patient needs.
    • Critically assess a patient's "readiness" to change, using a popular model of behavioral change, called "The Stages Of Change".
    • Please navigate throughout all of the links at the left, including the presentations, and if you would like to register for course credit and/or CME credit, please complete the self-evaluation test at the end of the course. You may take this self-test without registering, if you wish.
