Orchard Park is a very low income community, a group of projects.
MLK Towers is a high rise apartment complex, primarily housing senior citizens. It is located next to Roxbury Heart Center, the first center of its kind located in a predominantly African-American neighborhood.
The Activities of the Health Heart Advisors (HHA) included personal risk reduction. (Most HHAs chose to work on reducing their weight.) Neighrborhood Watch was the outreach component of the program. The HHAs implemented an enumeration and survey of the two census tracks areas to which the program was assigned. Community prevention projects would be based on the outcome of the enumeration and survey.
